My name is Shandy Smith. This site was developed because fitness has been a big interest of mine for as long as I can remember. I, like most guys, have played sports most of my life from boxing, to baseball, to football with my dog...but that's another story. Even now I play rugby for a amateur league here in town, I joined the Marines right after high school and for a few years got away from doing anything in the gym. Up untill now very physical jobs were what were available to me, for example, I was Floor Hand and Derrick Hand for many years on a drilling rigs untill I got hurt and became a loader in the plant. This position included loading the trucks with cement and acid. Still I spent most of the day swinging a hammer and lifting 50 –100 lb sacks for 12 hours a day. But didn’t care about my diet or working out in the traditional since.Then one day after just getting out of the shower while in a hotel on a business trip and standing there was that full body in front of a full length mirror.Thiking "that doesn't look so bad". Then "oh my God!!" I didn’t have a full-length mirror in my house apparently, Refelcting back from the mirror was "Puff The Marshmallow Man"! There were these huge shoulders and arms. It was this second when I could truly see how far out of shape I had gotten. So then it was trying everything...diets, gyms, workouts from magazines. I mean, I was embarrassed about my weight! Still I'm not a rock hard super body and I'm still trying to get to the end product of my fitness goals. I can say I have learned a lot about fitness and nutrition on my journey to where I am today. The one thing I have learned is its like everything else on the internet, there is so much information out there. You can get over loaded with everyone's opinions and suggestions ending up with more question than answers. This is where we come in.
